Paris Saint Germain’s head coach and manager Luis Enrique has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after falling from his bike while out cycling
Paris Saint Germain have issued an update on boss Luis Enrique ’s condition, after the Spaniard suffered a horrific fall while cycling which saw him rushed to hospital by emergency services.
The unfortunate incident took place on Friday, and saw the 55 year old head coach come off his bike while out for a ride.
After being transported to hospital it soon emerged that Enrique had escaped any life-threatening injuries, however he did break his collar bone during the fall – something that will require surgery to fix.

PSG announced news of Enrique’s accident in a statement on their social media channels, while also wishing him a speedy recovery ahead of his procedure.
The statement read: “Following a cycling accident on Friday, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was treated by the emergency services and will undergo surgery for a fractured collarbone.
“The Club expresses its full support and wishes him a swift recovery. Further updates will be shared in due course.”
Immediately after the news was shared both fans and rivals alike flocked to social media to share their messages of support for Enrique – along with their relief that he had escaped a more serious injury.
“Hope he recovers fast, wishing him the best,” wrote one fan.
Another said: “Speedy recovery,” before a third added: “Damn. Speedy recovery.”
With a fourth commenting: ”Damn, that sucks. Speedy recovery, coach!”
The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently unclear, and it isn’t immediately apparent whether Enrique simply fell or if he was knocked off his bike by a car.
Well known for being a keen cyclist, the Spaniard regularly documents his gruelling rides on social media, including a brutal EIGHT-DAY 700KM race in March 2023 which saw him race around South Africa.
Yet when he’s not busy cycling in his down time, Enrique is leading his team to victory and last season oversaw a historic treble for French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
He also notably led them to glory at the Champion’s League back in May with a record 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the Munich final.
And it appears that success has also continued into the start of the new 2025/26 season, with the most recent of their three straight wins being a 6-3 triumph over Toulouse.
