Dave Asprey, 51, has spent thousands on trying to ‘live forever’, including one procedure where he put some stem cells from his bum into his face…obviously

Dave Asprey is a biohacker – someone who’s desperately trying to beat the clock of life. The 51-year-old was overweight and struggled with arthritis during his youth spent in the US, but now he’s one of the poster boys for longevity.

Asprey now claims that he’s in the best shape and says he might even live until he’s 180. But one reminder of his early days remains – he’s still got binbags-worth of extra skin flapping around like an England flag in Southend-on-Sea.

Speaking to the New York Post, Asprey said: “I have about half of a large bath towel worth of extra skin because I was obese. I don’t love having all of that.”

The entrepreneur – who has splashed thousands on stem cell treatment and cryogenic therapy on his quest to “live forever” – admitted all that loose skin hanging around his face was giving him insecurities.

Luckily for Asprey, he had a lot of cash knocking – which he duly spent on an expensive “facial circumcision”.

“You can remove about 8% of skin that way, so I had several square inches of skin removed,” Asprey said, after he got twenty-eight square inches of skin – about the size of four credit cards – removed from his face.

Following the removal, Asprey received an injection of around 100 million stem cells and fat taken from his own buttocks to speed up the recovery time.

After the successful transfer of cells from one set of cheeks to another at the Regenerative Medicine Institute in Costa Rica, Asprey was forced to wrap his bloated face in bandages for weeks while he recovered.

Asprey said he was “very happy with the results…it was totally worth it”.

Answering critics who questioned why a biohacker would go under the knife, he said: “If you’re going to live for hundreds of years, your skin will keep growing and adapting to gravity.”

He brands himself the creator of “biohacking”, which he describes as the “art and science of changing the things around you and inside you so you have control of your own biology”.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning today, the 47 year old revealed he and his wife are “racing to get to 180 years old”.

And the thought of potentially being the sole survivor amongst his mates and relatives in years to come doesn’t faze him one bit.

“What’s going to happen is this is going to become something like cell phones – everyone has them,” he insisted.

“Everyone will have anti-ageing. There will be many people who are under the age of 40 right now who will be more than 100 years old – it is guaranteed.”

Dave has splashed out thousands of pounds having stem cells injected into his joints. However, not all his alleged techniques come with a hefty price tag, with something as straightforward as skipping breakfast supposedly crucial to extending life.
