The Daily Star asks readers for their predictions – as odds have been released for Strictly Come Dancing host replacement following Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman’s departure

Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have announced they are both leaving the BBC show via a joint statement. While fans of the show have been left stunned, some have started guessing who might take up the newly-vacant role.

Tess, who has been on the show for 21 years since it started with Sir Bruce Forsyth, released a lengthy statement of her own. It read: “After 21 unforgettable years, the time has come to say goodbye to Strictly Come Dancing. It’s hard to put it into words what this show has meant to me, so here goes.”

Tess finished: “This isn’t a goodbye to glitter, sequins, or Saturday night sparkle (I could never say goodbye to those!). Strictly will forever hold a special place in my heart – but it does feel like the right time to hand over the reigns.

“With all my love and endless gratitude, Tess.”

Since the announcement this morning (October 23), several names have been shared regarding who can fill the Strictly ballroom shoes – but no official confirmation has been released by the BBC.

From Roman Kemp, Fleur East and Rylan Clark, to Tom Skinner and even former prime minister, Liz Truss – have your say on the next host at the Daily Star.

There has been no official reasoning behind Claudia and Tess’ decision, but it is known the hosts have a busy TV schedule. Claudia hosts Channel 4’s The Piano as well as Emmy-winning The Traitors.

She has also recently taken on the Celebrity Traitors, currently showing on BBC.

Bookmaker Coral reported that Roman Kemp has been cut to 6-4 (from 5-1) in the firm’s next Strictly Come Dancing host betting. The One Show host has been the most popular name in their betting this morning, and is the new favourite for the role.

Fleur East is the second favourite at 2-1, Ryan Clark can be backed at 3-1, while Zoe Ball and Stacey Dooley are both available at 4-1.
