Erling Haaland has spilled the beans on the secrets behind his “crazy goals” – and it involves plenty of flexibility, raw milk and juicy steaks.
The Manchester City goal machine has been absolutely ruthless this season, bagging a staggering 24 goals in just 14 matches for club and country.
The 25-year-old Norwegian has lifted the lid on what makes him tick in his debut YouTube video on his brand new channel @erling.
The 27-minute documentary trails Haaland through a typical day, from whipping up breakfast to physio sessions, City training and rustling up his evening grub.
“I have natural good flexibility in my groin and my hips which, for me, is so important to keep, because how do you score these goals?” Haaland explains whilst getting a massage, demonstrating by hoisting his leg up to show off some of his more spectacular strikes.
“You need to have good mobility or flexibility to score these crazy goals. This is really important.”
During the film, the striker pops into a local farm shop en route to City’s training ground, picking up raw milk and several cuts of steak – which he later shows off his cooking skills with.
The personal project, which isn’t linked to City, promises to give fans a peek behind the curtain at Haaland’s training regime, lifestyle and hobbies away from the beautiful game.
He explained: “People always see the matches, the goals, the celebrations – but not the hours that go into being ready for all of that. It’s a bit of who I am away from the pitch, and I hope people enjoy seeing that side.”
It will function as his own platform to share original content and offer broader insights into his training, lifestyle and interests beyond the game.
In the opening video, we meet his girlfriend. They recount the tale of meeting as young footballers in Norway, and Isabel describes her game as similar to Haaland’s, telling him, “I don’t think you’re the best dribbler.”
The remark is met with a chuckle and a thank you.
