Coronation Street’s Lisa Swain could be in for a shock as fans have ‘spotted’ her dead wife Lisa on the ITV soap
Coronation Street fans are convinced Lisa Swain’s supposed dead wife Becky has made her debut on the ITV soap.
Lisa (Vicky Myers) made her debut on the soap back in 2021 – with troublemaker daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) appearing for the first time earlier in 2024.
Not much is known about Lisa’s past, apart from the fact that her wife and fellow police officer, Becky died while on duty. According to Lisa, Becky was chasing an assailant, who jumped into a getaway car. Tragically, they mowed her down, with Becky dying at the scene.
However, this year, Lisa revealed to new partner Carla Connor (Alison King) that before her death, Becky was being investigated by the anti-corruption unit.
Thinking there was more to Becky’s death, Lisa tried to do her own digging Logan (Harry Lowbridge) – who was involved in Becky’s death – gave the name Tia Wardley as a potentially crucial clue.
However, Lisa’s snooping was picked up on by her boss, DI Costello (Daon Broni) who called her out. And last week, Lisa was left floored when a woman claiming to be Tia, showed up and revealed her history with Becky.
She claimed that Becky saved her and helped her turn her life around. Later on though, it was revealed that the woman wasn’t actually Tia and was paid by potential bent copper Costello to pretend to be her.
But now, amid speculation that Lisa’s wife Becky is alive, fans are convinced that she has already been spotted.
During Friday’s episode (September 5) Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was at the hospital and had an interaction with a mysterious woman wearing a baseball cap.
And it didn’t take long for viewers to suspect that the woman is actually Becky Swain. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person said:
“Does anyone else think that the lady that Roy bumped into whilst at the hospital with Evelyn was a bit suss? Your average extra doesn’t usually get a speaking part. I think it was Becky and she was watching Lisa from the corner of the street at the end of the episode.”
Someone else added: “Roy talking to Becky in the hospital… well well well. Roy will see a picture of the so-called late Becky, and say… she’s alive I’ve seen her..dom dom dom…”
A third chimed in: “He may in the future be shown a photo of Lisa’s ex Becky (as Lisa’s now with Carla who Roy’s like a dad to) and realise he’s seen her at the hospital, and she’s alive and well. Setting the plot for another drawn-out storyline to continue.”
