Week five of Strictly kicked off with bad news following the removal of Stefan Dennis due to injury, with fans left furious over the dance off decision on Sunday’s results show

Week five’s Strictly Come Dancing’s eliminated couple has been leaked – and fans have been left furious at the “unfair” decision. While the outcome of a dance-off between two couples won’t be officially unveiled until Sunday night, the unlucky couple have already learnt their fate.

The BBC records the feared dance-off immediately following Saturday night’s live broadcast but keeps the outcome secret for 24 hours. Inside mole, the Strictly spoiler, has been disclosing the identity of the eliminated couples on their website every Saturday evening since 2012.

This is much to the frustration of the Strictly production team and judge Anton Du Beke, who has previously claimed it is “ruining” the programme for viewers. As usual, the spoiler was revealed for Icons Week, which Daily Star has chosen not to disclose.

Following the leak of the series’ fifth elimination, fans flocked to X to share their reactions.

One viewer commented: “I knew whatever the result was it was going to hurt but ITS SO MUCH WORSE THAN I FEARED.”

Another added: “All I’ll say about this – the result is a complete joke – wrong two people in the dance off and wrong person went out.”

A third noted: “Absolutely ridiculous. People assumed they were safe. Gone way too soon.” A fourth said: “I know this means they aren’t doing well with the public vote but it also shows what a mess the judges voting is for these two to be in the bottom 2, not the worst of the night.”

Someone took the opportunity to express annoyance at the judges, Anton, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood. They said: “Well, this is what happens when they underscore some and overscore others. What a mess.”

Many others noted the decision was completely “unfair” and “so undeserved”.

This week saw the return on Icons Week, where all the celebrities performed a dance inspired by a musical figure. Lewis Cope and Katya Jones received the highest score with a 34, while Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington and Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin both got 33.

George and Alexis are holding up the rear with 27 points, with La Voix and Alijǎz at 28.

Earlier in the week, it was announced that Stefan and Dianne’s stint on the programme had reached an abrupt conclusion after a ‘heartbroken’ Stefan was forced to withdraw from the series following a calf injury. Despite this, a celebrity will still be eliminated this week.
