Brazilian man Renie Diniz has spent more than 50,000 on tattoos, body modifications and implants to transform his body into a living work of art. The extreme changes have not been accepted by the public
A bloke sporting devil horns, a forked tongue and ink covering nearly his entire body has opened up about the public’s reaction to his jaw-dropping transformation – and it’s fair to say opinions are divided.
Renie Diniz kicked off his body modification odyssey aged just 14 following a visit to a tattoo convention that ignited a lifelong obsession with the craft. He’s since splashed out over £50,000 on tattoos, body alterations, implants and dental procedures to create his eye-catching appearance.
The Brazilian even participates in full body suspension – a practice involving hooks pierced through the back’s skin before being hoisted into the air.
Throughout the years, he’s also had horns surgically embedded into his skull and his tongue bisected, perfecting his demonic aesthetic.
“I have 80% of my body tattooed and all my tattoos are favourites – I love them all,” Renie, from São Paulo, Brazil, told NeedToKnow.
“The hardest was the one on my face, both because of the pain and because of finding a design that matched my own face.”
The body modification fanatic claims most folk respond favourably to his looks, although not everyone shows such tolerance.
He revealed: “There are people who ask me to stop, and some even curse me because of my demonic look.
“There are people who hate, swear and even want to hit or show hatred.
“But there are also many who like to take photos and show their love in a different way.”
Despite facing occasional backlash, Renie’s relatives and mates remain completely behind his metamorphosis. Unperturbed by the criticism, Renie has no intention of halting his body modifications in the near future.
He stated: “I still have some modifications and tattoos in mind.
“I’ll leave you curious about them – I don’t want anyone to steal my idea.”
Meanwhile, a tattoo artist has recently gone viral for all the wrong reasons. On her now-infamous TikTok page, Ariel Dejesus shared a controversial tattoo cover-up.
In a video that has garnered nearly 855,000 views, Ariel showcased her client’s chest tattoo, a piece that was already showing significant signs of wear and questionable quality. The original tattoo featured a symmetrical design centred around a skull with butterfly-like wings.
The execution visibly fell short on several technical fronts. The most glaring issue was the lack of saturation; the colours, particularly in the wings and flowers.
Seeking a fresh start just in time for spooky season, the client opted for a cover-up inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. Towards the end of the video, Ariel revealed her new work: a chest piece featuring Jack Skellington and Sally as the central figures, surrounded by Halloween-themed elements.
