The world has been gripped on the ongoing story of how a woman had secretly faked a pregnancy, birth and death of her baby, but now the woman at the centre of the drama has fled her home

The woman at the centre of a huge fake baby scandal has fled her home and has now gone into hiding. It comes as the world remains infatuated with the story, with even Netflix looking at cashing in on the plot.

Kira Cousins, 25, was exposed after it was revealed that she had faked a pregnancy, had “given birth” to a baby girl and then “killed” it when people began to ask questions. The story has since gone viral on TikTok as users are left stunned at the twists and turns of the story.

While Kira’s family and friends have come out to explain they were left completely in the dark about her plans, Kira has since gone off grid. After posting an apology and an explanation, she has since had to leave her home and find refuge elsewhere.

The fake mum has been pelted with online abuse ever since the story blew up on social media. Now, as a way to get away from the hate, sources close to the 25-year-old have confirmed Kira has left the Scottish home she shares with her mum.

Speaking to the Sun, a close pal of the accused said they had not “seen her in days”, leaving many with question marks on where Kira has run off to. “Everyone is just wanting questions answered, as to why she would be do such a thing,” the insider explained.

“She obviously needs serious help,” they continued. “Her mother was heartbroken and I don’t think they’re speaking; she is an only child, so this was the first ‘grandchild’.”

Kira’s mum was none the wiser to her fake plan to dupe everyone into believing she was having a baby, and reportedly only discovered Kira’s web of lies when she insisted on meeting the baby — named Bonnie-Leigh — nine days after she was “born”.

But instead of coming clean immediately, Kira concocted a bogus story that her fake baby had suffered from a heart condition and died just days after she was welcomed into the world. She was eventually rumbled after one of her friends decided to reveal the ruse to the rest of the world.

In a now-deleted post on Instagram, Kira would admit that she was never pregnant and had instead “made it all up and kept it going way too far”. She went on to say that she understood the concern and realised how easy it was to trick people into believing her, as she added: “In everyone’s defence, the doll could move.”

As it later turned out, this was not the first time that Kira would fake having a baby after a Facebook friend revealed she had stolen photos from their profile and passed it off as her. They added that they were also dumbfounded as Kira never fully explained this move either.

As a result of the huge reaction, Kira has been dogged with hate online, as people still are left with question marks over why Kira would go out of her way to go through with the bizarre plan. But since the story has spread across the world, some of the many people now looking for Kira are Netflix bosses, looking to cash in on the tale.

Sources told the Sun: “I was contacted by someone who said they were from Netflix, who are trying to get hold of Kira. This story is just so bizarre, they obviously think it will make a fascinating documentary.”
