Andy could be due half a million in moving out costs as the former prince is set to leave his cushty 30-bedroom property for another humble home provided by the King
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor could be in line for a £500,000 payout when he’s evicted from Royal Lodge. The disgraced royal, 65, may be due the payment from the Crown Estate as he is being forced to leave the 30-room mansion in Windsor earlier than expected.
He paid more than £8million up front to rent and renovate the property in 2003 when he moved in. But the terms stated that he could claim some of the money back if he left within the first 25 years.
Andrew, who has already surrendered his lease on Royal Lodge, may not move to Sandringham until after Christmas, because of the lengthy process of giving up his home.
The Norfolk estate is also the venue for the traditional Christmas gathering for members of the royal family. So the delay in moving means the rest of the royals can avoid potential encounters with Andrew over the festive period.
A source said the process of Andrew moving would take place “as soon as practicable”.
They added: “It is a process – notice must be given, then the lease must be surrendered and other formalities completed”.
Andrew was accused by Virginia Giuffre of sexually assaulting her when she was a teen trafficked by evil Jeffrey Epstein. He has strenuously denied the allegations.
Residents have called for streets honouring Andrew to be renamed. Mrs Jorshi, from Prince Andrew Road, Maidenhead, said it would “stick two fingers up at prince Andrew”.
The 51-year-old said: “I would be more than happy to change it, don’t want to be associated with him. I know two neighbours who are really campaigning for this.”

Whether you agree with fawning overprivileged people or not – and we certainly don’t – there’s no doubt this awful bloke lost any right to be raised up on a pedestal a long time ago. So it’s a disgrace that it’s taken this long to strip him of all his titles.
But despite his sensational fall from grace, it’s still not all bad for the ex-Duke. Andy is still going to be living on a cushy private Royal estate.
It’s highly unlikely he’ll have to head down the Job centre on Monday. There are even suggestions he might get £500,000 just to leave his lodge. And somehow he remains eighth in line to the throne. That hardly sounds like rock bottom to us.
Yes, his titles are gone.But really, until every last vestige of his privileges is removed then the job isn’t complete.
