Emergency services were called to a restaurant in Greater Manchester after several diners reportedly fell ill.

The incident occurred at Dosa Kingss on Northenden Road, Sale, around lunchtime at approximately 12.40pm. It’s believed that a number of customers were treated on the premises after becoming unwell.

Greater Manchester Police have stated that those affected experienced ‘minor reactions’, although one diner is thought to have been more seriously impacted.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the incident is believed to be linked to food consumed at the South Indian street kitchen and bar.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with police spending several hours managing the scene. Images shared on social media depict a significant emergency services response.

Northenden Road was temporarily closed as police, fire crews, and paramedics attended the scene. A gas leak was quickly ruled out by investigators, according to police reports.

The M. E.N. has reported that at least eight people were taken ill, with one individual more severely affected than the others.

By Saturday evening, Greater Manchester Police had vacated the scene. However, it’s understood that officials from Trafford Council and the Health and Safety Executive remain present.

A spokesperson for GMP revealed: “At around 12.40pm today (6 September), we received a report of people becoming unwell at a restaurant on Northenden Road, Sale.

“Emergency services quickly attended and several people were treated at the scene for minor reactions. Enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.”

Dosa Kingss has been contacted for a response.
