The Strictly Come Dancing professional admitted he needs to “calm down” after watching his wild on-air reaction.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Nikita Kuzmin confessed he needs to “calm down” after catching a glimpse of his own antics during the previous weekend’s live show.

The pro dancer has been twirling around with Amber Davies on the BBC One dance-off, who had to step in when Dani Dyer had to bow out due to an ankle fracture.

Despite racking up impressive scores, Amber has had to face the dance-off before. However, last weekend saw the pair breathe a sigh of relief as they were spared by the public vote.

After Halloween-week performance, Nikita couldn’t contain his joy while chatting with Claudia Winkleman. But now, he’s admitted he needs to take it down a notch.

After re-watching the clip where he was seen cutting loose in the Clauditorium, much to the amusement of fellow stars, Nikita told It Takes Two host Janette Manrara that escaping the dreaded dance-off and making it to week seven was “the happiest I’ve ever been”.

Janette responded: “Well actually, you both had very different reactions in the Clauditorium because Amber was wiping away tears of gratitude, and Nikita, you were doing this,” reports Wales Online.

The clip saw Nikita mount the table in a moment of pure joy, with Janette narrating: “Claudia looked stunned, Amber looked away.”

Nikita explained: “The problem is, Claudia said, ‘Feel free to use the table’, so even I don’t know, but if you tell me, Feel free, I don’t know where I’m going to go, things just happen. I need to calm down.”

Amber meanwhile told him: “Never change.”

This comes after Amber expressed her gratitude for making it through another week of Strictly.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “Still can’t believe WE have made it half way through the @bbcstrictly competition really… 6 weeks ago I had no idea how the end of year was going to look for me and with just 1 phone call and 48 hours later I was waltzing on live tv with @nikita__kuzmin that’s definitely one of those stories I’ll be bringing up around a dinner table in 40 years time.

“Working hard on the salsa routine for the weekend of course Nikita hasn’t held back and again if you have sent a vote our way and supported our lil team thank you so much.”

Fans rushed to support them, with one writing: “Girl you are absolutely smashing it every week and rightly deserve to have got this far.”

Another said: “Honestly love watching you guys so much you’re amazing.”

Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two airs weekdays from 6.30pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
