Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has appeared to let slip who will be a new addition to the cobbles and some fans have even predicted who she will be playing
Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon has inadvertently revealed a new cast member joining the ITV soap through a social media blunder.
The star shared a playful snap on social media, pulling a comical expression for her followers whilst seated in her dressing room, clutching an ITV mug.
But Lucy unwittingly captured her dressing table in the background, which displayed Doctor Who star Amy Cudden’s name attached to the black-framed mirror.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted the detail immediately and flocked to X to discuss who her character might be.
One viewer wrote whilst resharing Lucy’s image: “Amy cudden hmm I wonder who she will be playing #Corrie.”, reports the Mirror.
Another fan speculated: “I think she’s sharing a room with her.”
According to discussions on X, it’s thought that if the BBC actress does join the cobbles, she could portray the late Becky Swain, who fans are convinced is secretly alive, in the forthcoming police corruption storyline.
Becky is understood to be the “supposed deceased wife” of DS Lisa Swain, portrayed by Vicky Myers.
Following a recent episode, one viewer theorised: “Just realised, when ‘Fake Tia Wardley’ was talking to Costello she used Tia’s name in the past tense. What if the real Tia Wardley was killed and they used her body to fake Becky’s death, but actually Becky is alive – coming to Weatherfield imminently #Tiawardley #Swarla.”
Another fan suggested: “I reckon Becky is alive and Tia Wardly was probably buried instead of Becky.”
One viewer speculated: “I think Becky may still be alive and that’s who was watching Lisa. Though why she faked her own death remains to be seen. Will definitely put a spanner in the works on her engagement to Carla.”
Amy Cudden has graced our screens in numerous popular dramas, including Mr Bates vs The Post Office and Vera.
Lucy joined the Coronation Street cast as Bethany Platt in 2015, but decided to leave the cobbles five years later. However, she made a comeback in 2023.
Earlier this year, Lucy celebrated the birth of her second child in January. The actress revealed her pregnancy news last summer with boyfriend Ryan Ledson.
In July, Lucy shared her joyous news on social media, announcing: “Our teeny angel girl is here 11/1/25 x.” She paired the announcement with an adorable photo of her newborn baby girl, dressed in a floral onesie with “little sister” emblazoned on the front of it.
