Sarah Ferguson is reportedly set to flee the UK and move to a luxury villa in Portugal owned by her daughter Princess Eugenie and son-in-law Jack Brooksbank

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly planning to escape the UK due to the Epstein scandal, according to her close pals.

They suggest that a guest suite is being readied for her in a stunning £3.6million beachfront villa in Portugal, owned by her daughter Princess Eugenie and son-in-law Jack Brooksbank, report the Daily Express.

A local resident of the exclusive Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club in Melides, situated 82 miles south of Lisbon, shared: “The word here is that Fergie will be arriving some time in January. How long she’ll stay is anyone’s guess but if it’s a long-term move, I can guarantee she’ll fit well into the social scene.

“Scores of celebrities and Hollywood stars have been snapping up properties in the area.”

Among these high-profile names are Madonna, Scarlett Johansson, and Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander along with her actor spouse Michael Fassbender. Following her split from country singer Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman has recently sought Portuguese residency.

Facing the grim possibility of homelessness when she and ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor separate early next year, the former Duchess of York may have to vacate their current residence at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Andrew is set to relocate solo to a property within the Royal Family’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

However, Fergie, who has shared a home with Andrew at Royal Lodge for 17 years despite their divorce in 1996, is not being offered the same provisions. Like her ex-husband, she’s been stripped of all Royal titles and, following a leaked email where she referred to the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein as a “supreme friend”, she’s lost all her high-profile charity roles, including her ambassadorship for the British Heart Foundation.

Sarah, aged 66, has also been dropped from ITV’s daytime programme Loose Women, and it’s reported that she’s been in extensive discussions with a “brand rescue team” in a bid to salvage some form of future career.

Her daughters with Andrew – Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35 – are reportedly encouraging her to take this step.

Now, the younger princess is offering her mum a temporary European haven to escape the scandal.

Eugenie and her husband, Jack, a 390year-old marketing executive, purchased their plush property at the Costa Terra resort, where he works, in May 2022.

Since then, the area has blossomed into a favourite spot for celebrities.

One local, former NBC network boss Ted Harbert, compared it to the Long Island retreat of New York’s upper crust, dubbing the scenic Atlantic coast region as the “like the Hamptons of Europe”.

He added: “The people here are so friendly, and it’s so beautiful.”

Local property taxes are significantly lower than those in the US, and American real estate tycoon Michael Meldman, whose Discovery Land Company owns the Costa Terra residential resort, has unveiled plans for additional developments.

Eugenie and Jack, along with their two sons, four year old August and two year old Ernest, currently divide their time between Ivy Cottage, situated within the grounds of Kensington Palace, and their Portuguese residence, which boasts access to a championship golf course and spa.

Buckingham Palace has refuted claims that Eugenie pays merely a “peppercorn” rent for the three-bedroom Ivy Cottage, but refrained from commenting on whether the princess pays the “full market rate”.

A source based in the US who frequently visits the Costa Terra resort commented: “It’s a perfect place for Fergie to hide out while the Epstein affair continues to rumble on.

“She will be among family and friends and well away from the hostile atmosphere she’s facing in England.”

Sarah Ferguson was contacted for comment.
