WARNING, DISTRESSING CONTENT: Wilson Jones was arrested in Mississippi, US, after his school’s IT department received a ‘severe’ alert that illicit material was being downloaded
A sick teacher has pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse videos after he was accused of deploying artificial intelligence to create sexually exploitative clips of his students.
Wilson Jones was arrested in March after police discovered AI-generated videos depicting eight female students – aged 14 to 16 – performing lewd acts. Authorities confirmed the victims weren’t filmed with the footage entirely AI-generated, local outlet WVVA reported.
Jones entered guilty pleas on Friday (November 14) and now faces up to 10 years behind bars after the district initially found suspicious videos on his computer. The grim man will also be required to register as a sex offender.
Former Corinth School District Superintendent Edward Lee Childress was also indicted after he allegedly failed to report Jones to police.
Investigators alleged that in November last year Jones was on the job at Corinth Middle School when the school’s IT department received a “severe” alert that illicit content was being downloaded on Jones’ school-issued computer.
Before Jones was arrested on March 12 this year, police and FBI worked together to indict him. According to US News, a federal magistrate later set an unsecured bond of $20,000 (£15,200) and placed him under home confinement with GPS monitoring.
A subpoena was issued to seize his laptop and a thumb drive. The parents of the victims were immediately informed.
According to Action News 5, new documents recently revealed Jones got another job working with children after he resigned from the school system. The sick paedo applied for a position at the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services after he was first apprehended by authorities.
Although it is unclear if Jones worked directly with children, an online description of his role as a social service specialist stated the position included working face-to-face with foster children. According to court documents Jones pleaded with the state agency not to get in contact with his former employer when he applied for the job.
Corinth police chief Landon Tucker said the community had been rocked by Jones’ evil crimes.
Tucker told local outlet Action 5 News: “The community was furious as they should have been. They were very upset because, honestly, when you think about it, what’s more sacred than the safety of a child? Nothing.”
