
Sharif – a west London content creator with a 21,000-strong TikTok following and a plush Chiswick flat paid for by her parents – might seem an unlikely poster girl for the cost-of-living crisis and young female rage, at least on paper. Until recently, her Instagram largely featured a classic influencer mosaic of matcha lattes, perfect manicures and running content (she is an ambassador for training app Runna, and hosts a free women’s-only run club called Monstars), and she admits there was a TikTok fad element to the whole screaming thing at first, with the October 10 event attracting countless rowdy or influencer types keen to jump on a viral moment.
