Gordon Ramsay has landed another whopping paycheque by fronting the launch of a “gourmet” offering from Burger King.

The potty-mouthed telly chef, 58, is the grizzled face of the fast-food chain’s new £11 wagyu beef burger.

Gordon – worth at least £162million, and who recently underwent surgery to remove cancer from the side of his head – is believed to have landed a huge six-figure salary for the tie-in.

He said: “Take it from me, The Wagyu tastes flaming great and anyone trying it will be able to taste the gourmet quality of the beef… which is so important for any great burger. “It’s amazing to see how Burger King UK have made wagyu so accessible to the public, and I absolutely love how the product celebrates the best of British beef farming.”

The Wagyu without sides costs £11 – with Burger King saying “prices may vary slightly” depending on which restaurant where it’s bought.

It makes a full meal featuring the burger close to the price of the same at more upmarket eateries.

Burger King says it’s made with “high quality 100% British wagyu beef and flame-grilled to perfection”. While wagyu is renowned for its Japanese heritage, this gourmet burger is distinctly British by crossing wagyu cattle with British dairy cows, sourced from grass-fed herds across 700 UK farms.

Burger King is marketing it with a new campaign called ‘Not Made By Gordon’.

It plays on Gordon’s attempts to get in on the burger he wishes he had made.

Christian Binney, director of food development at Burger King UK, says: “The Wagyu is our most premium burger to date and a true innovation that delivers gourmet flavour to our guests nationwide.

“From the dedicated farmers raising wagyu herds, to our restaurant teams perfecting the flame-grilled taste, it has been crafted with expertise at every stage.

“And when Gordon Ramsay himself says he wishes he made your burger, you know you’re onto something special – having him involved really is exciting for us.”

Gordon has racked up a fortune with other ad deals in both the UK and US, including for brands including HexClad cookware, washing detergent Tide and a mobile game called HayDay.

And despite years of criticising vegan food the chef signed up to help flog Flora’s plant-based spread.

His latest deal with Burger King will surprise fans of his pricey posh nosh – sold in outlets including a string of Gordon Ramsay’s Street Burger outlets across Britain.
