Experts have uncovered a ‘forgotten’ passage of the Bible which supposedly depicts Jesus in a less favourable light than what early church leaders would have wanted

A ‘forgotten gospel’ which sheds more light about Jesus and ‘challenged the whole concept of Christianity’ itself has been discovered, Boffins say. It comes after scientists found that two of Jesus Christ’s miracles in the Bible were ‘real.’

Despite some parts of the Bible being more than 2,000 years old, religious scholars are constantly finding new aspects and interpretations of the most read text in history. Now, experts have come across what’s known as the ‘Infancy Gospel of Thomas.’

At first it seems similar to the Bible, full of feats that Jesus is believed to have done in this time. This includes bringing clay birds to life, drawing water from a broken pitcher and healing a boy whose leg was injured by an axe.

However, the passage shows a different side to him, which reportedly sees him curse a child to death for bumping into him, while he also blinds the parents of the young boy who accidentally strikes him, according to LadBible.

In the Bible, Jesus is his youngest at 12. But this uncovered book is dated to when Jesus was said to be just five.

Seemingly written by Thomas the Israelite, it reads: “When Joseph saw that Jesus had done such a thing, he got angry and grabbed his ear and pulled very hard.

“The boy became infuriated with him and replied, ‘It’s one thing for you to seek and not find; it’s quite another for you to act this unwisely. Don’t you know that I don’t really belong to you? Don’t make me upset.”

It isn’t surprising that early church heads were not so keen on including this text in the Bible. It comes as scientists previously unveiled evidence that supports the existence of Adam and Eve over 200,000 years ago, and now boffins claim to have backed up one of the Bible’s most significant miracles.

The hunt for discoveries linked to Jesus shows no signs of slowing down, with another major breakthrough revealed in August.

The legitimacy of the Gospel of Nicodemus, also known as the Acts of Pilate, continues to spark heated debate among religious scholars. If verified, it could illuminate many aspects of Jesus’ death.

Many Christians are particularly intrigued by the first part of this gospel, which outlines both the trial Jesus faced and His resurrection.

This crucial moment is viewed through the lens of Nicodemus, who is identified as a follower of Christ earlier in the Gospel of John.
