A man has shared his transformation after he decided to get a haircut for the first time in 13 years. He was inspired to do something about his locks after an embarrassing moment

Many people might go weeks or even months before visiting the barber. A quick trim here and there is typically the bit of self-care we all require from time to time, though you’ll occasionally encounter someone who lets it slide for years on end.

Now over on Reddit, one chap has disclosed how an embarrassing incident prompted his first haircut in a staggering 13 years. The fellow, who posted his makeover in the r/bald forum which has 241,000 members, explained he was motivated to tackle his mane after a photograph of his crown led to comparisons with former adult film star Ron Jeremy.

He explained: “I was the Metallica shirt guy that posted yesterday about being caught out by my own security camera, I really only expected a couple of comments, but it kinda took off.

“Just for some context the security camera was not in the bathroom, it was in the laundry room to monitor the cats while I was away since they eat in the laundry.”

The initial image displays him from behind where his hair is lengthy and somewhat balding on top. The following picture captures his flowing tresses. And in the final shot, he’s completely shaved.

He added: “But yeah, I did it! Hopefully no more comparisons drawn to Asmongold or Ron Jeremy. Thank you all for the encouragement, it’s kinda surreal after 13 years without a haircut. I actually really like it. Let me know what you think!”

After posting his transformation, it received 26,000 upvotes and 1,100 comments. One person wrote: “You look amazing!” Another gushed: “Much better, you look even younger!” While a third exclaimed: “YES! We love seeing UPDATES! You look so great!” And a fourth enthused: “Yoooo that looks so much better! Congrats dude it rocks.”

Regular hair maintenance is crucial as it helps ward off split ends while encouraging healthier-looking, lengthy growth. Snipping away damaged and frayed tips stops additional breakage and cuts down on frizz and knots.

A fresh cut can also simplify styling routines, whilst routine trims might give your self-esteem a welcome lift too. This follows another bloke who avoided the barber’s chair for four years before his jaw-dropping makeover left him completely unrecognisable.

The stylist revealed his client had been cultivating his locks for roughly four years before opting for a dramatic change. The hairdresser posted footage on TikTok showcasing his customer’s appearance both before and after the striking chop.
