I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here fans are calling EastEnders star Shona McGarty the jungle queen after Ant and Dec exposed how she swiped air freshener and brought it into camp

Ant and Dec have spilled the beans on how one I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant managed to sneak a forbidden item into the jungle camp.

Since the programme first hit our screens in 2002, countless famous faces have tried their luck at bending the rules – from Dean McCullough’s cheeky tea bag stash to Gillian McKeith’s bizarre habit of hiding salt, herbs and spices in her knickers.

This series proves no exception, with stars like Martin Kemp, Ruby Wax, Eddie Kadi and Jack Osbourne bidding farewell to their creature comforts as they battle to survive on nothing but rice and beans in the Australian wilderness.

Just recently, it emerged that Shona McGarty had managed to slip some air freshener into the camp, hot on the heels of Alex Scott being rumbled for using salt whilst preparing dinner, reports the Express.

Following the football star’s punishment – which saw the entire camp lose a meal star as payback – all contestants received a stern warning to surrender any other contraband items.

The former EastEnders actress then left her fellow jungle campmates gobsmacked when she produced a tin of air freshener.

Now the presenting duo have disclosed exactly how she got her hands on it during an Instagram Live session.

According to The Sun, Dec explained: “Actually, when you go down to trials, there’s a little kind of makeshift toilet for the celebs if you need the loo before the trial.”

He added: “So, I think the air freshener was in there or around there and she swiped it.”

Fans were left completely puzzled by Shona’s cunning move, with one posting on X: “How tf did Shona manage to smuggle in a huge tin of air freshener then? ? ? ? ?”

Another viewer queried: “Can someone explain how Shona managed to smuggle an entire air freshener into camp? The mystery of the season.”

A different fan exclaimed: “Shona wasn’t even the one to be caught with contraband but air freshener HAHAHAHAHAHAHA how the hell did she get that in.”

One follower chimed in: “I think we’re all baffled as to how Shona managed to smuggle a can of air freshener in.”

Another agreed: “Shona whipping out a giant can of air freshener that literally nobody knew about actually made me snort laughing.”

Following her “hilarious” antics, fans are now rooting for Shona, with one declaring: “Shona to win after this.”

Another endorsed: “That’s queen behaviour right there.”

I’m A Celebrity airs at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
