Kent Police said the collision involved two lorries and a black Nissan SUV on the London-bound road and the force are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward

A man in his 30s has died in a multi-vehicle crash on the M20 with another driver in critical condition in hospital.

The crash involved a white Mercedes lorry, a black Nissan Qashqai and a white Scania articulated lorry. All vehicles were driving on the London-bound carriageway of the M20, between junctions nine and eight.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “The vehicles were involved in a collision at 8.27am on Tuesday 25 November 2025. Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the Nissan, a man in his 30s, was confirmed to be deceased at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.”

The driver of the Mercedes lorry was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital for treatment for serious injuries. Kent Police is now calling for witnesses to the collision.

Officers from Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit are carrying out enquiries and urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the vehicles before the collision, to contact them. Anyone with information should call 01622 798538 or email sciu.td@kent.police.uk, quoting reference EW/JG/080/25.

All three lanes on the M20 westbound were closed for some hours between Junction nine (Ashford) and eight (Maidstone). There was a huge emergency response to the crash, which saw police, fire and ambulance crews attend, along with the air ambulance, which landed on the opposite side of the M20.

Traffic had to be stopped on the eastbound carriageway for around an hour for the landing of the Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex. It left the scene at 9.55am, with traffic not released until 10.20am, as emergency services crews continued to work at the scene.
