Loose Women star Ruth Langsford says she’s open to remarrying after therapy helped her navigate single life following her split from Eamonn Holmes after 27 years together

When Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes announced their separation after 14 years of marriage, the Loose Women presenter appeared to be coping admirably with the situation. However, months later, the 65-year-old ITV star has revealed she’s now reached a point where she feels optimistic about what lies ahead and hasn’t dismissed the possibility of finding romance once more or even remarrying.

Her renewed outlook has been attributed to seeking professional support from a therapist as she desperately tries to navigate her new single status after spending 27 years with the same partner.

Speaking openly to Women and Home magazine, she confessed: “I definitely see light in the future where I didn’t before. Before, I saw darkness and was thinking, ‘Oh my God, what’s going to happen?’ but now the fear [has] gone, because what do you do? Do you crumble? Do you lay down and die? Oh no, not I. I will survive.”

During the Christmas-themed photoshoot, Ruth looked stunning as she modelled several glamorous evening dresses, radiating her newfound sense of freedom.

When questioned about whether she’d be willing to find love again, she continued: “Never say never. I haven’t been put off having a relationship. I haven’t even been put off marriage, but I’m definitely not actively looking, and part of that is because I’ve realised I’m actually quite good on my own. I am independent and quite strong”, reports the Mirror.

She confessed that it’s taken her some time to reach a point of self-realisation. Despite an uncertain future, she expressed feeling “excited.”

Ruth and Eamonn were together for 27 years, married from 2010 until their separation last year. They share a son named Jack, who is now 23, while the GB News presenter has three other children from a previous marriage.

Shortly after their split was announced, it was revealed that Eamonn had entered a new relationship with Katie Alexander, a relationship counsellor who is 22 years his junior. Eamonn was spotted out with Katie, and they have since enjoyed various trips abroad together.

However, there is no suggestion of any overlap. Discussing her therapy, Ruth shared that she continues to find it very “useful.”

According to the television star, her therapist has helped her to “unravel” the complexities of her relationship and marriage. Shortly after the split, Eamonn moved out of the couple’s £2.5million marital home in Weybridge.

Despite significant job cuts at ITV impacting shows including Lorraine, Ruth has managed to retain her spot on Loose Women. Following the broadcaster’s reshuffle, the popular daytime TV show will now air for 30 weeks instead of the usual 52.

Whilst it appears the current panel will stay put, Ruth and her fellow stars are in a state of anticipation, waiting for their names to be announced. Luckily for Ruth, she has other television projects lined up.
