The Swedish group has returned and is promising players a new era of accessible, design-led, innovative peripherals for their video gaming
An iconic brand is back and is promising players a new era of accessible, design-led, innovative peripherals to take their video games to the next level.
Swedish group Qpad has a proud Nordic heritage dating back to the mid 90s where it was long celebrated for its precision, design, and engineering excellence in gaming peripherals.
PC enthusiast Christer Körnbäck hand‑cut oversized cloth pads back then so LAN‑party teammates could land flick‑shots with 1990s ball mice on their machines.
What started as a hobby grew into Europe’s first dedicated gaming‑gear brand.
And after a quiet period, Qpad has returned and is aiming to make a big splash once again in the competitive gaming and eSports industries with a host of new tech.
It is now spearheaded by industry veteran and former HyperX product architect Baron Lee, alongside CEO Morten-Stig Johansen, who has more than 20 years of global manufacturing and distribution experience in the games industry.
Their new range will be available to buy in Britain via Currys stores and includes keyboards, mice, mics, and mousepads that “combine high-performance engineering with gaming lifestyle-driven design”.
Baron said: “Having spent years in the gaming peripherals industry, I’ve seen how innovation often reaches players too late.
“At Qpad, we’re changing that by bringing cutting-edge technologies and design trends to market ahead of the curve.
“We deliver technology that excites, meaningful innovation that makes a real difference to how people play and create, and performance that lasts.”
It’s aiming to empower casual gamers content creators, and competitive streamers to improve their play with swift, effective tech.
It includes 2K and 4K gaming mice from £39.99 with light weight and ultra-low latency and precision.
There are also Edge mousepads from £14.99 which boast a non-slip rubber base, consistent glide and sizes up to XL.
There are streaming mics for those wanting to play their games online to fans from £39.99 and a series of pro gaming keyboards too in the Loop and the Flux models which have hot-swappable switches, RGB lighting and plug-and-play USB-C connection.
“Our business model is simple: make Qpad an exclusive brand for specialist retailers in each market,” said Morten.
“This approach ensures focus, expertise, and the best possible experience for our customers.
“Following our successful launch with Elkjøp in Europe, we’re proud to confirm our exclusive range with Currys in the UK.”
