A man in his 20s was stabbed in the leg at The Abbey on Abbey Road in Bearwood area of Sandwell, Birmingham and currently remains in a stable condition in hospital
A man has been hospitalised following a stabbing incident at a well-known pub. The victim, thought to be in his 20s, suffered a leg wound at The Abbey on Abbey Road, Bearwood, Birmingham last night (November 29).
West Midlands Police responded to reports of disorder at the pub around 8.40pm. Three men – aged 30, 24 and 19 – have been detained on suspicion of wounding and are currently in police custody.
The injured man is reported to be in a stable condition in hospital. The force has urged anyone with information to come forward, referencing log 4189 of 29 November.
Photos from the scene show the street bathed in the blue glow of emergency services’ lights as they attended the incident, according to Birmingham Live. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: “We’ve arrested three people after a man was stabbed at a pub in Bearwood.

Bearwood is a busy area of Sandwell that lies on the border with Birmingham, and The Abbey is described as a popular pub in the area. The swift emergency response involved multiple police units being deployed to the scene on Thimblemill Road.
This is not the only incident in recent weeks that had resulted in someone being stabbed in the leg. Earlier this week, it was revealed a police officer was stabbed in the leg during a “brutal and barbaric” attack, with two people being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The incident kicked up after a 21-year-old man allegedly started to get aggressive, before launching a vicious attack on the officer, hitting them in the face. When told to show his hands, he refused to do so and then produced a small knife before trying to stab another officer in the chest.
A second man was also arrested at the property where the attack took place, where it was revealed he was already wanted by officers for breaching bail conditions. He was also arrested after he punched the police officers, spitting on their glasses as he was detained.
