WARNING, GRAPHIC CONTENT: Former Ebonie Cotton had her rivals in fits of the giggles as she faced her before their super bantamweight clash in Birmingham at the weekend, after she exposed a little too much at the weigh-in

Glamorous boxer Ebonie Cotton suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction ahead of fighting Molly McCann – who couldn’t help but laugh at her opponent. Far from the common sight of boxers trying to psyche each other out at the weigh-in, Cotton and McCann both got the giggles as the former put more on show than she meant to.

McCann left Cotton covered in blood on Saturday night as she stormed to victory in just her second fight since switching from MMA. But on Friday, both fighters were all smiles as they faced each other at the weigh-in.

McCann was already laughing when Cotton came out – and could barely look in her eye as they squared up. It soon transpired why – as the 31-year-old’s right nipple was exposed through her orange lingerie. Neither fighter could hide their giggles, and Cotton nonchalantly styled it out.

It didn’t seem to hamper her preparation for their bout on the Ben Whittaker vs Benjamin Gazavi undercard in Birmingham, as she went the distance in the super bantamweight clash against McCann but ultimately came up short.

McCann took the points win 58-56, two months after beating Kate Radomska on her boxing debut. The 35-year-old won 14 of her 22 MMA bouts before switching to boxing, and landed some big hits on her way to victory over Cotton.

Cotton refused to go down against the onslaught, but the former model ended up with her face bloodied after McCann landed a big cut. It was Cotton’s second professional boxing match, after she beat Kira Carter in July.

For McCann, boxing is her third sporting career, after she played football for Liverpool before taking up MMA.

The 35-year-old retired from MMA earlier this year after her defeat to Alexia Thainara at UFC London.

Announcing her switch to boxing back in July, she said: “It was just the right time to leave the sport of MMA so I chose to leave the sport knowing I had a career waiting for me in boxing.

“The boxing pedigree is there. I was in and out of the boxing gym growing up because I like to fight and like to punch. I can just go. I will fight anyone, wherever, whenever.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn said: “She’ll compete now as a boxer and about time.

“I’d like to say as well, a former ABA champion, everyone knows the ability as a boxer, obviously been a massive star within the UFC and built her profile globally as well.

“We’re delighted to start the journey, delighted she chose Matchroom, gonna be fighting all around the world and there are gonna be some massive nights. We want to keep her nice and active.”
