ITV I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here viewers were quick to call out one campmate’s ‘nasty’ comment that really hurt one of their favourite stars

I’m A Celebrity viewers were rallying behind Lisa Riley following a ‘cutting’ remark from one of her fellow campmates. The Emmerdale star, 49, found herself backed by the public after they slammed her co-star’s sharp-tongued comment.

Fans criticised what appeared to be a snide dig from comedian Eddie Kadi, 42, after the Mandy Dingle actress was named deputy camp leader.

Ruby Wax, 72, assumed the role of camp chief with Lisa selected as her second-in-command. Angry Ginge, 24, and Aitch, 25, who had previously held leadership roles, teamed up with Jack Osbourne, 40, to challenge the fresh power structure, reports the Mirror.

Ginge made his displeasure clear when he claimed they were “taking the mick out of me last night when I was moving out”. He declared: “The welcome dances have got to go.”

This followed Ruby and Lisa’s demand for him to perform whilst Aitch provided the rap after learning of their new roles.

Lisa dismissed his demand, stating: “No the welcome dances have got to stay.” However, Ginge wasn’t backing down and shot back: “Well I will refuse to wash up.” Lisa persisted: “Well the welcome dances will stay, that’s the only thing I put forward as deputy.”

This prompted Eddie to wade in, saying: “Hold on, hold on things have changed though, the regime has changed. You are lucky to be in that position.”

His final remark seemed to sting Lisa and prompted viewers to slam the comedian online. Lisa immediately responded with a shocked: “What?” before standing with her hands firmly planted on her hips throughout the remaining exchange.

Spotting the awkward moment during the programme, viewers flocked to Twitter/X to condemn the comedian’s behaviour.

One fan posted: “Did I mishear or did Eddie say to Lisa she shouldn’t be deputy anyway or words to that effect? She looked very hurt by what he said.” Another replied: “Yes I thought it was quite nasty what he said to her.”

Any potential drama between the duo will have to be put on hold, though. Eddie was revealed as the second celebrity to get the boot from camp, following Alex Scott’s departure after the public vote.

Speaking to Geordie presenting pair Ant and Dec during his exit interview, Eddie acknowledged it was his “time” as he crossed the bridge and bid farewell to his jungle companions.

Chatting with Ant and Dec in the studio during the live broadcast, Eddie reflected: “I’m happy and sad at the same time, I’m had I’m sappy, honestly what a great time. I’ve had such an incredible time.

“I have made amazing friends, faced some fears and to be fair, it feels very surreal to be on such an iconic show, but most of the time you forgot you were on a show.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here airs every night from 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
