A man has died after plummeting from the roof of a busy shopping centre. Hampshire Police confirmed they rushed to Westquay shopping centre in Southampton on Sunday following reports of a man who had fallen from height.
Emergency services raced to the scene just before midday. The man was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Police have now launched an investigation and the man’s relatives have been notified,. A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called by colleagues from the ambulance service at 11:39am on Sunday, November 30, to reports of a man having suffered a fall from a height at Westquay on West Quay Road in Southampton.
“Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.
“Officers are conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances that led to this incident.”
