A White House video showing ICE arresting illegal immigrants against the soundtrack of a Sabrina Carpenter hit has triggered the popstar, who denounced the clip as ‘evil and disgusting’

Trump’s White House continues to stir controversy with its videos on X, sparking a furious response from the actor and singer Sabrina Carpenter.

A video with her hit ‘Juno’ in the background shows ICE in action, chasing and catching illegal immigrants in Chicago, and mocks the protesters who try to confront the unit’s raids.

“Have you ever tried this one? Bye-bye” reads the message with the provocative clip, posted on Monday. But the 26-year-old star’s response was fast and furious: “This video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.”

The White House hit back hard, though, in response to her comments, referring to her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ tour.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said: “Here’s a Short n’ Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won’t apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and paedophiles from our country.

“Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?”

“Stupid or is it slow” are lyrics from her hit ‘Manchild’.

Sabrina Carpenter shot to fame in the Disney series Girl Meets World in 2013 before launching her meteoric music career with her first album in 2015. Her fandom is now growing faster than any other musician’s, according to a report this year.

She has already broken industry records by hogging the top of the UK and US charts. She also achieved the remarkable feat of debuting at number 1 in 19 countries with her 2024 album.

‘Juno’, the track picked by the White House, features the lyrics “Have you ever tried this one?” The words refer to the sexual positions the singer performed on stage during her concerts in her Short ‘n’ Sweet tour. Fans sent the tune viral on TikTok by acting out their own saucy moves to the song.

But Sabrina Carpenter is just the latest in a long line of musicians to fume at Trump’s unauthorised use of their tunes.

The full list, starting with Abba and ending with French songwriter Yoann Lemoine, includes the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne, and Phil Collins.

Even the frontman of the Village People moaned about Trump’s use of YMCA, although the president’s rallies rocketed the track back to the top of the charts.

The US Defence Department has meanwhile recruited a young turtle from a Canadian children’s book series in its unconventional communications, showing the character in a cartoon about killing drug traffickers.

The publisher of “Franklin the Turtle” blasted Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth for a social media post where the turtle guns down the criminals.

“We strongly condemn any denigrating, violent, or unauthorized use of Franklin’s name or image,” said Kids Can Press.
