The 2025 F1 drivers’ champion will be decided today during a thrilling finale to the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

It is the first time since the unforgettable battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen in 2021 that the Formula One title fight has gone right down to the wire and the final race.

That was Verstappen’s first of four consecutive world titles and the Red Bull superstar remains firmly in the hunt for a fifth in a row back at the Yas Marina Circuit, where he is a four-time winner.

But another victory for Verstappen will not be enough alone on Sunday, he also needs Norris not to finish in the top three. A podium place of any sort for the Briton would see him clinch a maiden world title.

The situation is more difficult still for team-mate Piastri, who led the way for much of the season but is now 16 points behind Norris and needs a lot to go his way in the race to snatch his own first championship in unlikely fashion.
