NTAs fans ‘praying’ Ant and Dec are dethroned by TV legend after 23 year reign

National Television Awards fans are begging for one person in particular to be handed the Best Presenter trophy, even though Ant and Dec are expected to win for a 24th year

National Television Awards fans are hoping that Ant and Dec’s 23 year winning streak will come to an end.

The I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! presenters currently have the World Record for the most National Television Awards won consecutively for Best Presenter after bagging a whopping 23 in a row.

Some fans are seriously impressed with their winning streak that spans well over two decades, but others are sick of seeing the Geordie duo swipe the crown every year and are eager for another famous face to take home the trophy.

Ahead of the ceremony held at The O2 in London on 10 September, fans of the NTAs flocked to social media to share their thoughts on McPartlin and Donnelly’s highly anticipated potential win.

Over on X/Twitter, one person wrote: “I think this is the first time in 24 years that Ant and Dec won’t be at the #NTAs this year because they’re filming Im A Celeb All Stars. OMG is that a sign??” and followed the tweet with another which read: “Tbh I just want somebody else to win.”

“Alison Hammond and Claudia Winkleman are both just as brilliant and definitely deserve their flowers at some point.”

Another person agreed, stating: “They shouldn’t be winning anyway it’s getting ridiculous at this point! Team Claudia all of the way,” as a third user added: “It’s time for Claudia Winkleman gets her flowers for The Traitors or Alison Hammond.”

Yet another tweet chimed in: “Voting time, PRAYING for Claudia to rightfully and finally dethrone Ant & Dec.”

Claudia Winkleman has presented The Traitors since it first began back in 2022 and quickly became a smash hit, with a celebrity spin-off version set to air October 2025.

Alison Hammond is an ITV staple and regularly presents This Morning alongside Dermot O’Leary, as well as Great British Bake Off with Noel Fielding.
