Narinder Kaur was allegedly ‘stopped’ from walking the red carpet at this year’s National Television Awards, leaving her ‘baffled’
The National Television Awards stands as one of Britain’s most glamorous showbiz events, yet one celebrity’s evening at the glitzy bash fell short of her expectations.
Television personality Narinder Kaur was reportedly barred from strutting down the red carpet at this year’s NTAs, which took place on Wednesday, 10 September at The O2 Arena in London.
Narinder, 52, who rose to prominence on Big Brother, posted snaps on social media showcasing her pre-event preparations, though notably absent were any red carpet shots, with claims emerging that she was “turned away” by event organisers upon her arrival.
“The carpet was in full flow and packed with celebs looking to show off their outfits,” an insider revealed to The Sun.
“Narinder expected to join them and was baffled and frustrated when she was stopped from having her moment. It caused quite a bit of commotion and those around couldn’t make out why she was rejected.”
Daily Star has reached out to representatives for Narinder Kaur seeking a response.
Narinder posted a selfie to her Instagram Stories whilst travelling to the NTAs on Wednesday night, with the television star striking a pose alongside her agent Dermot, reports OK!.
Their evening seemed to have begun on a chaotic note, with Narinder revealing to followers she was “trying to calm down at HOW LATE we are”.
Narinder also displayed her complete ensemble on social media, having chosen a bold red lace creation featuring an extended train and striking sleeves.
Having initially shot to prominence on Big Brother, Narinder has since established herself as a regular face on television programmes such as Jeremy Vine, where she voices her views on current affairs.
Most recently, Narinder turned to social media to condemn Rylan Clark’s contentious remarks about migrants on This Morning, calling on the presenter to “do better”.
In a clip posted on X, she declared: “Rylan, I met you before, liked you, but your outburst on This Morning was disgusting and despicable. You can do better. Don’t you dare wrap it up as it’s all unfair.
“If you wanted to talk about unfairness, you could have talked about billionaires not paying taxes, corrupt politicians, but you decided to punch down on vulnerable people who are drowning, desperate to get to this country. You wrapped it up as some kind of luxury holiday.”
She has also voiced her opposition to Thomas Skinner’s participation as a contestant on this year’s strictly-come-dancing>Strictly Come Dancing.
The National Television Awards can be watched on ITVX.
