Jeremy Clarkson is offering money off his alcohol if they take part in an exciting new project.

Clarkson’s brand Hawkstone has now launched a new mobile game, Beer Farmer, which was released on 10 September to celebrate Back British Farming Day.

Players can step into Jeremy’s wellies and “experience the perils and glory of harvesting barley for beer”. Fans collect barley, herd cows, gather manure, dodge terrifying scarecrows, avoid thunderstorms and swarms of wasps all from the comfort of their phone.

The backbreaking tasks are intended as “a reminder of the relentless hard work of British farmers.”

Ahead of the Beer Farmer launch, Jeremy discussed his new career move and admitted he is eager for the public to get a pixellated taste of what life is like behind the scenes at Diddly Squat Farm.

Clarkson said: “I’ve always said farming is hard, but it turns out this farming game is almost as difficult. In some ways it’s worse because the wasps are the size of spaniels.”

“But the game is also really good fun and it makes an excellent point about how much effort goes into growing the ingredients used in every single drop of Hawkstone.”

If that isn’t incentive enough, then wait until you find out that successful players get to enjoy a perfectly poured pint of digital Hawkstone as well as a 15% discount code that can be used on your next order from the Hawkstone website.

Beer Farmer is available to play for free on the Hawkstone website.

The motoring journalist is perhaps best known for hosting Top Gear but in recent years he has turned his attention to farming. He launched Hawkstone back in 2021 and makes British lagers, ciders, gin and vodka.

The unusual name comes from an ancient standing stone and the company is “currently the fastest-growing beer brand in the UK and holds the distinction of being the most followed beer in the world on Instagram”.
