Donovan had been leading Crocker on the scorecards during their dramatic first all-Irish bout contested amid a fervent atmosphere at Belfast’s SSE Arena back in March, only to be contentiously disqualified by referee Marcus McDonnell at the end of the eighth round for punching after the bell, sparking chaos.

The Limerick southpaw – AKA ‘The Real Deal’ – had earlier seen two points deducted for first use of his head and then the elbow after a number of warnings from McDonnell.

Belfast favourite Crocker’s victory in what was a final eliminator for the IBF welterweight title saw him become the No1 contender for unbeaten American Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, who also claimed the WBA gold by beating Eimantas Stanionis in New Jersey in April but then vacated his belts in order to move up to the super-welterweight ranks.

Donovan’s team quickly lodged an appeal against his controversial disqualification, with demands for a swift rematch granted by the IBF.

But Ennis’ decision to vacate, with a fight coming up against Uisma Lima next month, has now seen the stakes rise massively for both men with the vacant belt now on the line in front of a sold-out stadium crowd.

Crocker vs Donovan 2 fight date and venue

After the first fight was held at Belfast’s SSE Arena, the rematch for the IBF world title has been upgraded to the 18,500-capacity Windsor Park, home of Linfield FC and Northern Ireland’s international football teams.

Crocker vs Donovan 2 fight time and ring walks

Ring walks for Saturday night’s main event are expected at around 10:20pm BST, with the main undercard action getting underway at 7pm and the early bouts from 4:30pm.

As ever, the exact timings on fight night are subject to change.

How to watch Crocker vs Donovan 2
