As chaos erupted in Europe overnight, some people are convinced that the psychic duo’s predictions are coming true – but for many of us, this is a matter of life and death
Whether you’re a believer in psychic abilities or dismiss it as utter nonsense, it’s hard to deny that two of history’s most renowned seers have made some eerily accurate predictions.
Blind prophetess Baba Vanga and 16th-century astrologer Nostradamus are both credited with foreseeing some of the world’s most notorious events. Baba’s disciples believe she prophesied Princess Diana’s death, foresaw the 9/11 attacks, and even predicted the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Nostradamus is believed to have accurately foretold King Henry II’s death in his 1555 book Les Prophéties, a compilation of cryptic verses said to predict future happenings. Some argue he predicted the Great Fire of London in 1666, while others claim he anticipated Adolf Hitler’s rise to power.
Alarmingly, both supposed psychics made similar prophecies about the year 2025, which – depending on your level of scepticism – could be seen as unfolding right before our eyes. Bulgarian-born Baba, who accurately predicted her own death on 11 August 1996 at the ripe age of 84 back in 1990, claimed she saw a war erupting in Europe this year, marking the start of “humanity’s downfall”.
She allegedly warned: “In the spring, a war in the East will begin and there will be a third World War. A war in the East that will destroy the West,” and claimed Putin would become “lord of the world” and Europe would be reduced to a “wasteland”. She is also reported to have predicted: “Russia will not only survive, it will dominate the world”, reports the Mirror.
In a concerning turn of events this week, the first direct confrontation between Russia and NATO since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 took place. Poland shot down Russian kamikaze drones after Putin’s forces “repeatedly breached” its airspace during a nighttime assault on Ukraine.
Millions of Polish citizens were advised to seek shelter, and some buildings were damaged, although fortunately, no one was injured.
The NATO nation labelled the breach an “act of aggression that posed a genuine threat to the safety of our citizens”. Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued a stark warning about the intensification of conflict with Russia following the strikes on his nation.
He stated: “This situation brings us the closest we have been to open conflict since World War Two”. The nation invoked NATO Article 4, a provision that allows any member to formally consult the alliance when it perceives its territorial integrity, political independence, or security to be under threat.
Nato secretary general Mark Rutte didn’t mince his words in a stern message to Putin, labelling the act as “reckless”. “Stop the war in Ukraine, stop escalating the war, which he is now basically mounting on innocent civilians and civilian infrastructure, and stop violating allied airspace,” he demanded.
“Know that we stand ready, that we are vigilant, and that we will defend every inch of Nato territory,” he further warned.
In addition to Baba’s predictions for Europe, followers often refer to Nostradamus’ prophecies about the continent, which also predict devastating wars, particularly for England. “When those from the lands of Europe see England set up her throne behind her flanks, there will be cruel wars,” he prophesied.
“The kingdom will be marked by wars so cruel, foes from within and without will arise. A great pestilence from the past returns, no enemy more deadly under the skies.”
Reflecting on the recent events, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed his belief that Putin’s aggression is escalating due to a lack of pushback from the West. “Putin just keeps escalating, expanding his war, and testing the West,” he penned on X, previously known as Twitter.
“The longer he faces no strength in response, the more aggressive he gets. A weak response now will provoke Russia even more – and then Russian missiles and drones will fly even further into Europe,” he warned.
