Kelvin Fletcher’s wife supports ‘sister’ as she makes Coronation Street debut

Coronation Street recently welcomed newcomer, Sienna, as part of Asha Alahan’s storyline

Coronation Street recently aired a series of powerful episodes centred on Asha Alahan’s experiences as a trainee paramedic.

As such, the ITV soap introduced a new character, Sienna, who is a fellow paramedic and Asha’s, played by Tanisha Gorey, work supervisor. The character is played by actress Charlotte Tyree.

Taking to Instagram following her cobbles debut, Charlotte shared a collection of behind-the-scenes snaps as she penned: “Shift on … Sienna’s in.

“Having a tremendous time on The Cobbles so far! Everyone at @coronationstreet has made it so welcoming and a truly wonderful experience for me. Being a Northern Lass and stepping on to the iconic street feels incredibly special.

“@tanisha.gorey has been so generous and such a delight to work alongside. Now I’m going to go Roy’s Rolls to finally get Asha that Brew…#Coronationstreet.”

One person who was super proud of Charlotte was Liz Fletcher, who is married to Emmerdale legend Kelvin Fletcher. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Liz shared Charlotte’s post, adding the words: “My sister in Corrie!” with celebrating emojis.

The two have been best friends for years with Liz previously writing back in 2016: “We have absolutely nothing in common, she loves the stone roses, I love little mix, she wears creepers, I wear heeled trainers!!!

“But somehow, she is the kindest, sweetest, daftest person I know, who drives me mad with her demands for coffee and how loud she is in the mornings but I couldn’t ask for a better best friend!!

“If we had never met being cast as Gayle and Jen in that god awful play, how boring life would be xx happy birthday hot stuff @tyreehairdo.”

Also responding on Charlotte’s post was actress Tanisha, who plays Asha, she penned: “The best partner evurrrrr” with heart emojis.

Meanwhile, DS Lisa Swain star, Vicky Myers wrote: “Absolutely chuffed to bits for you” while Michelle Keegan, who previously played Tina McIntyre, added: “Go on girl” with a heart and celebratory emojis.

It comes as actress Charlotte portrayed Fay in the 2011 Channel 4 mini-series This Is England ’88, crafted by Shane Meadows. In the series, her character was romantically involved with Shaun (Thomas Turgoose) and shared screen time with renowned actors such as Vicky McClure and Stephen Graham.

In addition to This Is England ’88 and Coronation Street, Charlotte has graced the screens in ITV’s The Long Shadow and Still Open All Hours.
