This offer comes hot on the heels of a previous one that Interactive Investor ran throughout summer, which gave investors up to £2,000 when opening or transferring a self-invested personal pension ( Sipp ).

However to get that amount, you had to have a pot of more than £1million. Those with a smaller pot of between £10,000 and £49,999.99 would have received a far more modest £100. This makes Interactive Investor’s current offer a better one for those with less to invest. You must open with or transfer at least £15,000 before 30 September – if you’re transferring, the instruction has to be submitted by 30 September and it must complete within two years.

Cashback offers like this boost your pension pot, but it’s important to check all the terms and conditions, fees, and features - and make sure you don’t transfer a pension without confirming it’s the right choice for you. For example, you should check that you won’t lose any valuable benefits from your existing provider.

Is Interactive Investor a good choice for your Sipp?

There are a dearth of cashback deals currently available, so Interactive Investor's offer is worth considering if you'd like to give your pot a boost when opening an account. If you have more to invest, it's worth checking out Fidelity's offer , which is running until 10 November. You can get £300 if you have a £50,000 pot – cashback steps up until it reaches £2,000 for those with £1million.

In our view, Interactive Investor is a good choice for investors with bigger pots who like to keep costs down. This is because, unlike many other investment platforms , Interactive Investor’s account fees are subscription based rather than charged as a percentage of the value of your investments. If you have just a Sipp with Interactive Investor, it costs £5.99 a month for investments up to £50,000. Above £50,000 it costs £12.99 a month.

To have a stocks and shares Isa with a Sipp, you'd need to pay £9.99 a month for investments up to £75,000 and £21.99 above that. Our tests show that Interactive Investor is straightforward to use and has good customer service. It has a wealth of investment research and educational content to get stuck into.
