Elmoncy Sercle was arrested after a woman he met on a dating app claimed he ran her over when she refused to let him smell her feet and buy her used trainers
A foot model claims a Florida bloke mowed her down when she wouldn’t let him sniff her feet on their first date together.
Elmoncy Sercle was arrested after a woman he’d met on a dating app alleged he ran her over following his sudden dash from the hotel room where they’d arranged to meet. The duo had organised their first encounter for August 24 at an Aventura hotel.
It was there that Sercle was accused of attacking the woman he’d connected with on Seeking.com, according to an arrest affidavit examined by PEOPLE. The woman, who sells used trainers, told officers that once Sercle had entered the hotel room, he requested to smell her feet and purchase her worn trainers, the affidavit states.
“When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet and I didn’t feel comfortable with that,” the woman told Local 10.
“I mean, you could have my sneakers all you want,” she added, “and you know, they’re just stinky old sneakers. But people like weird things.”
She informed Sercle, 28, it would set him back $1,000 (£744) and that her trainers were in her motor.
On leaving him to use the bathroom, the 28-year-old fled the hotel room. The woman then chased him thinking he had stolen one of her belongings, she told police.
Rushing outside, she spotted him in the car park, where he drove past her in a red SUV before allegedly doing a U-turn and ploughing into her, according to investigators.
She sustained road rash and bruising across her arms and chest. Sercle is alleged to have fled the scene but was apprehended on 28 August after attempting to book a room at the same hotel, according to the affidavit.
Police have suggested he may be connected to other incidents that bear a striking resemblance in terms of the method of attack, although online records did not show charges related to these.
He has been charged with aggravated battery in relation to the incident and has entered a plea of not guilty, as per online court records.
Last year a poll has revealed as many as two million Brits have a thing for toxic trotters, with the whiffier the better. Just over 3% of those asked said they adored honking hooves, even confessing it “turned them on” and made their partner “more attractive”.
People from Bradford were the biggest fans – with a whopping 8% confessing they loved them. Folk from Newcastle and Nottingham were the least likely to love reeking trotters – with none at all saying they liked them.
