Ozzy Osbourne’s son, Jack, has shared that “no one expected” his father would pass away just days after performing his farewell show.

The music legend sadly died at the age of 76 in July, just days after performing on stage for the final time.

He made a remarkable comeback with Black Sabbath and performed solo at his Back to the Beginning concert in his hometown of Birmingham.

Ozzy was accompanied by his rock comrades as they staged one of the most memorable farewell shows in music history.

Just two weeks later, the country was shaken by the heartbreaking news of his death. He died at the family home in Buckinghamshire.

While Ozzy and Sharon were open about his health following his Parkinson’s diagnosis, the family confessed that contemplating his death wasn’t on their “radar,” with the music legend thinking about life in retirement.

Jack found out while at his home in Los Angeles, and immediately flew to England to be with his family.

He said he just felt “sadness and pain” on hearing the news but took comfort in the fact that Ozzy was no longer suffering.

“There was a level of okay he’s not suffering anymore,” Jack shared on his YouTube channel, according to the Mirror.

“He’s not struggling and that is something. I wish he was still here I wish he was still with us all. But he was he was having a rough go, and I think people saw that at the show.”

Revealing how Ozzy’s death came as a shock, Jack added: “No one expected it to happen as quickly as it did and when it did. It was not anything that was on our radar.”

He then decided to put to bed any rumours of Ozzy planning to die after the show.

Jack said: “I know leading up to it there was all sorts of stuff going around about my dad going to Switzerland to euthanize himself and this was all planned.

“This was this this it was not absolutely not. That is categorically untrue and ridiculous.”

Jack revealed how Ozzy was “so happy” to have been able to return to the stage for one final time, and was getting ready to settle into retirement.

Jack said: “He was happy to kind of move into this next phase of his life. He wanted to to spend more time in England. He wanted to spend more time with my kids.

“He wanted to spend more time just exploring different things as much as he could.”

About the day Ozzy died, Jack said: “I woke up in Los Angeles to a knock on my house door at around 3:45 in the morning from someone who’s worked for my family for god probably 30 years now was was knocking on my door.

“When I looked through the my window and I saw it was him I just knew something bad had happened. I was informed that my father had passed.

“Just pain just sadness and pain and just so many thoughts. You go through this feeling sad and frustrated and angry and like this part of you that’s like I have to get there right now.”
