Former EastEnders actor Joe Swash has landed a new BBC show about fatherhood
Joe Swash has unveiled his latest venture, which he has described as “eye-opening”.
The former EastEnders star, 43, is reportedly embarking on a one-hour documentary about fatherhood for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, Joe Swash: Britain’s Young Dads, reports the Mirror.
As a dad to three little ones – Rex, five, Rose, three, and two-year-old Belle – plus stepfather to Stacey’s lads Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 13, from her previous relationships, and father to son Harry, 17, from his own earlier romance, Joe brings plenty of personal experience to the project.
The documentary will reportedly follow Joe, who became a father in his mid-twenties, as he meets other young dads navigating similar circumstances.

It will see the former soap actor examining his own journey into parenthood whilst exploring themes around modern masculinity.
Discussing the venture, Joe told The Sun: “We don’t often hear from – or talk about – young dads in the UK. It’s been eye-opening to meet the young men behind the statistics.
“The ones working hard to create a good future for their kids. I feel lucky that we’ve been able to help tell their stories, and hopefully we can get people thinking a bit differently about young dads.”
This announcement follows Joe’s and Stacey’s success with their own reality series, Stacey & Joe.
Meanwhile, Joe’s Channel 4 series Cooking for Less has been renewed for another series. The show, with batch-cooking guru Suzanne Mulholland, attracted over a million viewers during its initial run earlier this year.
In July, it was announced that a second series had been commissioned due to the show’s success.
The dynamic duo will reunite for another six episodes set to air next year.
Joe and Suzanne recently told the Mirror they were thrilled: “We’re both excited to keep spreading the word about the power of batch cooking and look forward to teaming up again to transform the lives of families around the UK.”
The BBC has been approached for comment.
Stacey & Joe airs at 8pm on BBC One on Tuesday September 30.
