Chelsea Football Newsletter

Both Chelsea and Liverpool will hope to head into the October international break on a high as they face off at Stamford Bridge.

Neither side comes into the match on particularly convincing form. The Blues arrested a concerning run of one win in five this week, beating Benfica 1-0 in the Champions League thanks to Richard Rios’ own goal.

After the club invested heavily in his squad over the summer, Arne Slot is under pressure to get the Premier League champions back on song, with the side not quite clicking so far this season.

In spite of their wobble, Liverpool remain atop the Premier League, but could be knocked off the summit should they lose this weekend.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Chelsea vs Liverpool is scheduled for a 5.30pm BST kick-off on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

The match will take place at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea managed to come through the Benfica clash with no new injuries, but the squad’s fitness is precarious at best.
