Taylor Swift has invited a Radio 1 DJ to her wedding to Travis Kelce, with the star confirming the news live on air.

Radio 1 DJ Greg James has confessed he was so taken aback that he “half missed it” when pop superstar Taylor Swift extended an invitation to her wedding.

Taylor, who just dropped her new album The Life of a Showgirl, is engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who proposed earlier this year. The topic came up during her chat with Greg on the Radio 1 Breakfast show this morning (October 3), where Taylor revealed that the DJ made the cut for her wedding guest list, reports the Mirror.

She was discussing how towering Travis stands at 6ft 6″, and shared a joke that her “guy friends are like, ‘I want Travis to pick me up and throw me over a roof or throw me in the pool’.”

Greg played along, quipped: “I’d like him to maybe just do a wrestling move on me into a pool or something.”

To which Taylor responded: “The way that he’s going to do that as soon as he sees you at our wedding. That’s gonna happen.”

“”Woah, woah, woah – am I coming?” asked the surprised DJ

Taylor simply replied: “Obviously.”

When Greg asked about the venue, she said: “I’m going to let you know at a different time.” “It’s a yes please and thank you!” Greg exclaimed.

Later, during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine, host Christine Lampard excitedly asked the radio star: “That’s an invite, that’s official?

“That was an invitation, yeah,” Greg confirmed with a smile. “I mean, I’ve said yes.”

“I’ll wait for the actual invitation,” he added.

Christine remarked: “Well, she sort of just spoke as if you already knew, you know, it was all very casual, wasn’t it?”

The star responded: “I thought, because I sort of half missed it in the chat and went, oh, hang on a second, did you just say… She’s so fun to interview.”

“Taylor and Travis announced their engagement back in August.

The singer broke the news to her fans by sharing pictures of the proposal on Instagram, captioning them: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Lorraine airs on ITV on weekdays at 9am.
