Former Spice Girl and fashion designer Victoria Beckham opened up about her breast implants in her new Netflix documentary, which dives into the singer’s personal life and career

Victoria Beckham has explained why she got her breast implants removed.

During her new Netflix documentary the former Spice Girl reflects on her earlier years when she embodied the quintessential WAG style, notable for dark fake tan, voluminous hair extensions, a slender physique and enhanced cleavage thanks to breast implants.

Her presence at the 2006 World Cup in Germany supporting her husband David solidified her status as a WAG icon. Alongside fellow WAGs like Coleen Rooney and Cheryl Tweedy, Victoria’s image inspired the popular TV series Footballers’ Wives.

However, as she transitioned into a career in the fashion industry Victoria decided to have her implants removed. The singer was influenced by designer Roland Mouret, who also features in the documentary.

Victoria joked that they’re likely “bobbing around in the Mediterranean sea”, before proudly acknowledging her past as a WAG: “I mean, yes, I was a Wag and a proud one,” reports the Mirror.

“I think that I’ve spent such a long time after the Spice Girls searching for my purpose and I didn’t know what it was, so I suppose that’s why I dressed in that way. There were a lot of hair extensions, tight tops and fake tan, although, I still do fake tan.”

She continued, “I’m not going to lie, it was probably to get attention, because I was searching for my identity. I don’t know where those boobs went, but they went. It was definitely working with Roland that did it.”

Victoria praised her friend and even said that she “wouldn’t have a career if it wasn’t for him.” According to the former Spice Girl, Roland “encouraged me to just be me, not feel I had to be that person, to just tone it down.”

Posh admitted that she felt a sense of relief and could finally “just show myself through my collections,” before confessing that she looks back “at those days now and I smile.”

“I mean, we were all wives and girlfriends. Let me tell you, though, that’s probably one of the nicest things people have said about me. For years, people have misunderstood my irony. Of course ‘Wag’ is probably seen as un-feminist nowadays, but we live in different times and people now are much more accountable for what they say.”
