Strictly Come Dancing star George Clarke impressed the judges on Saturday night with his couple’s choice for Movie Week.

BBC viewers were absolutely stunned on Saturday night whilst watching Strictly Come Dancing’s George Clarke.

The 25-year-old stepped onto the dance floor alongside his professional partner Alexis Warr as they delivered their Couple’s Choice to the tune Soda Pop from KPop Demon Hunters for Movie Week.

Their performance earned them a score of 31, landing them in fourth place on the leaderboard, whilst Lewis Cope claimed the top position with a score of 37.

Nevertheless, he’s since tackled some criticism from viewers following the judges giving him the first 10 of the series.

Despite this, both Lewis and George were rescued by the public vote and will be dancing again next weekend. Upon discovering he’d survived another week, George chatted with Claudia Winkleman backstage.

The BBC presenter was eager to learn more about the bonds and fellowship amongst all the contestants, reports Wales Online.

George responded: “I think everyone is getting on really well, you can see up here when everyone is watching each other’s performances, it’s very uplifting and nice morale.

“Then you remember that someone has to go home, which is less fun.”

The BBC presenter, however, was swift to shift the conversation, keen to discover more about his ‘nemesis’ as there’s another person sharing his name.

George answered: “Yeah, I’ve got a nemesis, my namesake. He’s an annoyingly successful architect. But, I can reveal that since doing Strictly, I’m the person that pops up when you now type in George Clarke, take that George Clarke!”

The audience erupted in enthusiastic applause as Claudia quipped, “I bet he’s livid, quickly drawing a bridge.”

During her chat with the BBC, star Alexis disclosed that next week’s performance will feature a Tango to Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida”.

Unfortunately, it spelled the conclusion for ITV’s Ross King, who found himself in the bottom two alongside Balvinder Sopal. Ultimately, the panel chose to rescue the EastEnders star, meaning Ross’s journey came to an end.

Visibly moved whilst reflecting on his time on the show, the 63-year-old expressed: “I have loved every single minute of it. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, all the people who voted – they’ve been amazing.

“I want to thank everyone here in this room, backstage, the judges, the crew – every single person here has made me so, so welcome.

“And, I want to thank a very special lady who has been with me through it all and has been absolutely everything: she’s been a mentor, teacher, carer.

“I could not have wished for a better partner, and I could not have wished to be on a better show. Thank you, judges, for all your remarks.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday (October 18th) on BBC One from 6:30pm.
