This Morning star Alison Hammond has opened up about her time in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle

Alison Hammond is crossing her fingers that this year’s I’m A Celebrity jungle won’t feature any “rude” famous faces, as she shared her thoughts on the opening episode of the ITV programme.

The This Morning presenter, 50, who entered the ITV reality series as a latecomer in 2010, found herself at odds with a fellow campmate right from the start.

During her appearance on spin-off programme I’m A Celebrity Unpacked, following yesterday evening’s launch, she rekindled her dispute with Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder, reports the Express.

“When I went in there, I’ll never forget, I walked in and said the party’s here with my Terry’s Chocolate Orange, and everyone was like (unbothered face),’ she reminisced.

“Then, Shaun Ryder took an instant dislike to me. He was very rude!” She added, “So hopefully there are no Shaun Ryders in there.”

Leigh Francis leapt to his mate’s defence, claiming “he’s normally really lovely”, though Alison appeared unconvinced.

Their rivalry stems from her arrival in the jungle in 2010, when Shaun grew instantly frustrated at the thought of another celebrity joining their group.

“Oh, more f***ing people in the camp. And a loud person and a cheery person as well,’ he grumbled in the Bush Telegraph, taking aim at her bubbly nature. “She’s probably a really nice person, don’t get me wrong. I like Alison,” he conceded. “I like horse s**t in the country, but I don’t want it in my living room.”

“I just don’t want to go through it. I’ve done f**k all for eight days except socialise. I’m about that far from f**king off.”

Despite his grievances, he stuck it out in the camp, even making it to the final and ending up as the runner-up to the Jungle Queen.

He confided in the Daily Star at the time: “Ever since the jungle show, I knew Alison didn’t like me. But fair enough, nobody has to like each other. It’s not against the law.

“When we were in the jungle, I knew from day one that she didn’t like me. On [that night] I was proved right.”

Daily Star has reached out to Shaun Ryder for a comment.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here continues on tonight at 9pm.
