An American woman living in the UK revealed she’s dating British guys and has one very unique way of winning them over – but people are absolutely mortified by it

The dating scene can be a minefield to navigate. Whether you’re swiping through apps or hoping to catch someone’s eye down the pub, trying to charm someone these days is no walk in the park.

When it comes to romance, everyone has their own approach – and now one American woman living in the UK has shared her strategy. Taking to TikTok, the mum, who hails from the US but has relocated to the UK, insisted her method is the “fastest way” to win over a British bloke – and it’s supposedly simpler than you’d imagine. In her video, which racked up dozens of likes and comments, the content creator, who amassed 86,000 followers, declared: “Apparently the fastest way to a British guy’s heart is making the perfect cup of tea.

“And as American trying to navigate the dating world in the UK, I can use all the help I can get.”

She was speaking before her “very important” date that evening and had even watched countless YouTube guides to ensure she nailed the technique.

“I’m practicing ahead of time and I really think this is going to be the tea that steals his heart,” she added.

However, while she revealed her intentions, viewers were absolutely stunned by her tea-making approach.

In the footage, the woman can be spotted adding cold water to a mug that already contains a teabag. She then heads to the microwave, and yes, you’ve guessed it correctly, the mug goes straight inside.

Once it’s been warmed up, she stirs in a teaspoon of sugar along with some milk, before finally presenting it.

Plenty of people flocked to the comments to voice their thoughts, with one writing: “I guess you aren’t winning any British man’s heart anytime soon then.”

Another chimed in: “You don’t put it in the microwave we use a kettle. In the UK we never make a tea like that it’s criminal.”

A different user added their two pence: “Do I need to teach you how to make an actual good brew.”

Even the Yorkshire Tea account couldn’t resist joining in, exclaiming: “Not the microwave!”

However, one person didn’t seem too bothered by her unconventional method, commenting: “Not bad! Take the teabag out before adding sugar and milk tho! This is really sweet of you btw!”

So what’s your verdict on this woman’s tea-making tactics?
