As Andrew’s fall from grace continues, he is now making “astonishing” demands for what his new home will be, including drastic asks for a butler, a cook and gardeners

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is said to be in tough negotiations over his new residence as his fall from grace continues. It comes after the disgraced royal was stripped of all remaining titles in the wake of his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has vehemently and repeatedly denied the sexual assault accusations made against him by Virginia Giuffre, an alleged victim of Epstein’s. However, with the impending publication of his accuser’s posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl, the allegations she raised were thrust back into the public eye.

As a result of his titles being stripped, King Charles also revealed that his scandal-hit younger brother would be vacating his 30-room Royal Lodge estate near Windsor Castle. However, with Andrew and Sarah set to leave the house in the coming months, new details of the move are being released.

Public anger had been mounting when it came to light that, under the terms of Andrew’s lease agreement with the Crown Estate for the property, he only paid a “peppercorn” rent for the Grade II listed residence. He was, however, liable for maintenance and repairs on the sprawling property, which he had shared for many years with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

The duo are set to fully separate, with Andrew making his way to a residence on the Sandringham Estate. Meanwhile, Fergie is reportedly preparing to depend on one of her daughters for a roof over her head.

Princess Beatrice owns a transformed “cattle shed” within her Cotswolds residence that might serve as an option, with another possibility being a suite within Princess Eugenie’s luxurious Portuguese home, situated in a prestigious area frequented by A-list celebrities such as Madonna, often referred to as the ‘Hamptons of Europe’.

Whilst King Charles personally owns the Sandringham Estate, the sprawling 20,000-acre Norfolk property contains approximately 150 homes, leaving uncertainty over which residence Andrew will occupy, according to the Mirror. Sources have suggested he has compiled an extensive wish list regarding his future accommodation before agreeing to finally abandon the home on the Royal Family’s Windsor grounds.

It was revealed that Andrew is keen to ensure he receives what he considers suitable staffing levels for his requirements in his fresh abode. This means that gardeners, cooks and butlers will be required for the former prince once he makes the move.

Fresh reports from the Royalist newsletter, penned by Royal correspondent Tom Sykes, mirror these claims, suggesting Andrew seeks an extensive range of personnel and is “demanding a substantial six or seven bedroom house on the Sandringham Estate” plus a “driver and police security”. A former Royal aide, quoted by Sykes, commented: “Knowing Andrew, this was always going to be about money.

“Andrew is essentially being bought out of the lease, so he will haggle over every last detail of the deal.” The beleaguered royal’s 75-year lease on Royal Lodge has often been described as “iron-clad”, meaning that King Charles had no means of evicting his brother; Andrew had to willingly agree to leave.

Andrew Lownie, author of the explosive biography ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’, which delves into the lives of Andrew and Sarah, explained Andrew “had a very strong lease”. As well as this, the ex-prince “had put £8.5million into this house which he expected to have for his children until 2078, so you know just to be fair to him this what happens when you take out long-leases, you know get some benefits from it, so I don’t think we can quibble about that.”

It was also reported that Andrew is keen to maintain his freedom to roam the estate, rather than being confined to the boundaries of whichever property he agrees to live in. Initially, it was reported that Andrew and Sarah planned to vacate Royal Lodge in the New Year, but recent reports suggest this timeline may be delayed.
