EastEnders fans are convinced they know who will be sent down for the car crash
EastEnders enthusiasts believe they’ve figured out who will be held responsible for Monday’s tragic car accident.
Viewers will remember that Nigel Bates has recently been grappling with early onset dementia. In Monday’s episode, Nigel was set to sell his cherished vintage car, but accidentally damaged it in the process.
This led Lauren Beale to lower the price, but Nigel accepted the deal regardless, needing the money for his forthcoming trip to India.
After bidding farewell to his treasured car, a melancholic Nigel confessed to Yolande Trueman that he yearned for one last drive. Spotting the misplaced car keys, which Julie Bates had hidden and forgotten about, he hatched a plan.
Following a row with Julie, Nigel decided to take one final spin around Walford in his car, reports OK!.
However, when Julie called him during the drive, he became flustered and distracted, resulting in a dramatic collision with Jasmine Fisher and Gina Knight.
The episode concluded with both Jasmine and Gina unconscious on the ground, while a bewildered and horrified Nigel grappled with the aftermath of the crash.
In upcoming episodes, Julie falsely claims she was behind the wheel. However, a doubtful Nigel is convinced she’s lying and turns himself into Jack Branning, accompanied to the police station.
Yet, soap fans speculate that neither Julie nor Nigel will be blamed for the incident, and instead, another Walford resident will be framed.
Fans will remember that Okie is presently keeping Harry Mitchell captive as part of his drug dealing scheme alongside Ravi Gulati. Current storylines depict Harry trapped in a room with shackles around his ankles, whilst Okie continues his psychological torture.
Harry’s dad Teddy has become increasingly worried about his son’s disappearance, whilst his girlfriend Gina remains completely unaware of the unfolding situation.
During Monday’s instalment, George Knight became anxious about Kojo’s location, who has also become entangled and exploited within the drug trafficking ring, prompting Okie to devise plans to eliminate any evidence.
Okie seized this chance to target Gina as well, whom he wishes to steal away from Harry whilst keeping him prisoner, fabricating lies by pretending Harry and Kojo had enjoyed a night out together, alleging Harry had been unfaithful to her. Subsequently, Okie demanded Harry telephone Kojo to resolve the matter, but he instead warned Kojo to flee.
Soap enthusiasts are now convinced that Okie might be framed for the collision. Writing on Twitter, now X, one viewer commented: “Okie has been spending time with Gina – he’s got her boyfriend locked up and Kojo has gone AWOL because of him. Once George gets wind of what has happened it won’t take him long to jump to the wrong conclusion and accuse Okie of causing the crash. #EastEnders.”
One viewer commented: “I can see Okie getting framed for this though given he’s been close to Gina recently #EastEnders” whilst another suggested: “I get the feeling that George might frame Okie for the car accident once he gets wind of Okie’s date with Gina.”
Meanwhile, another fan speculated: “Tonight’s Duff Duff spells bad news for Okie. I mean he’s got Gina’s boyfriend locked up – Kojo has gone AWOL and now Gina’s got caught up in a car accident after Okie had a date with her What’s that going to make George think? I hope Okie gets framed for this #EastEnders.”
EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm.
