Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood was not afraid to share his opinions on one contestant.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood left everyone stunned with his brutal four-word verdict about one celebrity contestant.
The 60-year-old judge, who’s been dishing out criticism since the show began in 2004, made his shocking appearance on Monday’s (October 27) It Takes Two alongside presenter Fleur East.
Fleur wasted little time in grilling Craig about the remaining stars, with the notoriously tough judge delivering his trademark blunt assessments.
The conversation quickly shifted to Alex Kingston’s emotional performance, which had reduced the actress to tears following her stunning routine on the BBC dance show.
During that memorable moment, the Doctor Who star had glided across the dance floor with professional partner Johannes Radebe, delivering a breath-taking rumba to Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car.
The performance left all four panellists speechless, with head judge Shirley Ballas leaping to her feet and awarding the pair a perfect 10, reports WalesOnline.
When Fleur asked Craig about the magical moment, she noted: “Alex’s rumba was her top scoring dance and Shirley gave her a ten. What do you want to see from her to get a ten?”.
Craig delivered his savage response without hesitation: “Overmarked.” Fleur was visibly shocked, gasping: “Oh no.” But Craig wasn’t backing down, adding: “I’m just saying. I want to see a bit more pzazz and splash.
“I think it sometimes gets a little bit same and a bit dare I say D-U-Double-L-dull darling. I think it’ll be nice to see her take bigger risks because she’s got great technique, she’s a fantastic actor.”
He went on to say: “I think she is wonderful and she shows real commitment and promise to this show and you can see how hard she works on technique as well. Shirley was right about her technique, it was really good but I would like to see a little bit more passion.”
After their high-scoring rumba, Alex took on the persona of Dolly Parton for her latest dance, as Icons Week made a comeback to the Strictly ballroom for its second year.
The 62-year-old performed a foxtrot, embodying the country legend, alongside professional Johannes and received praise from judge Anton Du Beke who described her as “absolutely beautiful”.
They secured third place on the leaderboard with an impressive score of 32 out of a possible 40 points from the judges, with Craig adding: “You maintained your frame throughout, which was adorable, and your musicality is a sensation.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday at 6.55pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
