Beonix Festival 2025 in Limassol converted us from DnB fans to techno lovers, with perfect weather, euphoric sets, and sun-soaked vibes we’ll never forget
As self-confessed drum and bass fanatics, we weren’t sure what to expect when we touched down in Limassol, Cyprus, for Beonix Festival 2025.
Known primarily as a haven for techno heads, Beonix wasn’t typically our usual scene. But after three unforgettable days of sun, music, and connection, we can honestly say we’ve come away with a new appreciation and a genuine love for the genre.
What struck us first was the setting as Cyprus in late September is nothing short of dreamy, with golden beaches just minutes away, lush wineries around the corner, and that perfect Mediterranean climate that meant dancing outdoors late into the night was a joy rather than a chill.
Limassol provided the ideal backdrop for a festival that was as much about atmosphere and connection as it was about music.
And the music? Incredible. The festival delivered big-name headliners that electrified the Mainstage: Armin van Buuren, Roger Sanchez, and Boris Brejcha each brought their own unique touch, turning the nights into euphoric celebrations of electronic music.
For us, the standout sets came in the form of b2b brilliance: Jordan Masters b2b Smythy, Marlie b2b Wax Material, Just Jam b2b Wodda, and Seb Zito b2b Casey Spillmann all delivered high-energy, hypnotic journeys that hooked us in from the first beat.
Despite our DnB roots, we found ourselves totally swept away by the layers of rhythm, depth, and emotion that techno can deliver.
The festival layout itself played a huge part in making the experience so special. The Mainstage was a true spectacle with towering lasers slicing through the night sky, a sea of bodies moving in unison, and an electric energy that never dipped.
In contrast, the Organic Stage was our personal favourite. Though the least packed, it offered a more intimate vibe with uplifting, feel-good tunes that perfectly complemented the sunshine.
The Garden Stage brought a splash of tropical flavour, its vibrant beats and colourful setting creating an holiday-like atmosphere.
And then there was the Hangar which was loud, dark, and utterly relentless. Its industrial feel instantly transported us back to the days of London’s Printworks, with a raw, moody, underground intensity that made it impossible not to get lost in the music.
What really set Beonix apart, though, was the people. From start to finish, the crowd felt welcoming and drama-free. This wasn’t a festival full of egos – it was a gathering of people united by their love of music.
As Brits, we were warmly embraced, making countless new friends along the way. We also want to shout out how safe it felt throughout, even walking to and from the site as women was never an issue, which is sadly not something that can be said about every festival experience.
By the end, Beonix had not only given us memories of incredible sets and stunning Cypriot sunsets, but it also opened our eyes to a new world of music. Techno, we get it now. We’re converts.
