Rapper Cardi B recently gave birth to her fourth child and immediately sent her placenta, also known as the afterbirth, away to be covered in gold as a keepsake
Cardi B has paid a jaw-dropping amount of money to have her afterbirth immortalised in gold.
The rapper recently sent her placenta off for treatment, a process which retails for over £1000, just days after giving birth to her fourth child. This comes soon after the chart-topping icon recently lost her £10,000 bum crack piercing down the toilet.
Over on Instagram, creator @mommymadeencapsulation shared a video of Cardi’s umbilical cord while wearing neon pink surgical gloves.
The cord was dyed bright blue and they fiddled with it to form a heart shape, which was then placed into a dehydrating machine and covered in a layer of bright gold coating.
Behind the cord was a card that read: “This placenta belongs to Cardi B.”
The creator has reportedly turned over 40,000 placentas into heartfelt keepsakes for women across the US and packages start from $500. The website reads: “Founded by mother of four Juliane Corona in 2016. Mommy Made Encapsulation is the largest, most experienced placenta encapsulation company.”
“Servicing all of the United States with an easy and affordable shipping option. Juliane and her team have encapsulated for over 40,000 mommies, including many celebrities and your favorite influencers.”
They explain: “At Mommy Made Encapsulation, we use the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method of placenta encapsulation. Each placenta will yield on average 160-180 pills, which, when taken regularly, can have many benefits of placenta capsules for new mothers.”
Customers can order a “placenta collection kit for only $250”. In the caption of Cardi’s video, the creator wrote: “Where her journey started… turned into a keepsake she’ll treasure forever.”
Down in the comment section, fans were completely divided after watching the graphic video of the encapsulation process. Some people said it was “the best thing they ever did” while others were freaked out by the clip. “TF is going on here,” wrote one person while another said: “I’ll pass.”
Someone else said: “Why tf is this on my feed,” while another person typed: “But why,” and a third chimed in: “Yeah, this is weird.”
