TV viewers are wondering whether one of the contestants on the new show has been put there to stir things up

The Inheritance
Rob Rinder is the Executor on the show

The Inheritance fans reckon one of the contestants on the fresh show could be a “plant”.

The Channel 4 programme follows a group of hopefuls battling it out for a slice of the inheritance left behind by The Deceased, who is played by Liz Hurley. Rob Rinder takes on the role of the will’s Executor.

The contestants must duke it out through various tasks to unlock cash from the prize fund, before making their case as the sole person worthy of bagging the loot.

During Sunday’s opening episode (August 31), the contestants were tasked with gathering wine bottles and successfully freed up £5,600 from the overall pot. But tensions erupted as Zara clashed with rival contestant Tia over her contribution to the challenge, reports the Mirror.

Tia slammed her for starring in the “Zara show” and branded her a “selfish player”. When Zara attempted to respond but Tia kept talking, she snapped “Can I not talk?” and became visibly emotional.

“Players, players, decorum please!” Rob intervened.

The hopefuls then had to put themselves forward if they believed they’d made the biggest contribution to the mission, with Zara stepping up alongside Jesse, Matt and Emma. But the rest didn’t back her, opting for Jesse instead.

Plenty of viewers watching the episode became convinced that Zara had been deliberately placed by programme makers to cause drama.

“Zara is clearly an actress planted by Channel 4 to stir the group up,” one viewer posted on X. Another viewer admitted they were “OBSESSED” with the player, exclaiming: “Best actress plant EVER!!!”

One person speculated: “Zara is a plant imo – an actress in their midst,” while another viewer labelled her as “an absolute nightmare”.

A different viewer theorised that both Matt and Zara were “plants inserted into the game by the producers”.
